TSWREIS Secretary denies allegations
TSWREIS & TTWREIS Secretary R.S. Praveen Kumar stated on Wednesday that the educational institutions were being run through Government Orders and standing orders issued from time to time and all the activities were in public domain for any kind of scrutiny.
In a clarification issued to the media, he said he was “deeply pained by the wild and baseless allegations levelled against me by National SC Reservation Parirakshana Samithi (NSCRPS)” and regretted that none of the members had visited the schools or homes of students to clarify their doubts about the functioning.
“I have volunteered to serve in the welfare residential schools with a sense of payback to the society and, with the constant support of the government, we could bring the much-needed turnaround,” said Mr. Kumar and reminded that delegations, including the 15th Finance Commission, National Commission for SCs and others, had visited the institutions and are working on replicating the model in their respective states and countries.
“Calling my activities as anti-national are not only unfortunate, but also a hateful slur on marginalised sections who want to emancipate themselves through modern education”, he said. The Secretary also appealed to parents and alumni not to take law into their hands and respect the right to express opinions and respond to the allegations in the most democratic manner.
