Indore has been ranked India’s cleanest city for the fifth time in a row by the central government. Surat was named the second cleanest, while Vijayawada was ranked third in the list.
The results of the cleanliness survey, an annual exercise conducted by the Urban Affairs Ministry, were announced on Saturday. The winners were awarded by President Ram Nath Kovind in a ceremony in New Delhi.
Varanasi was recognised as “the cleanest Ganga town” in the survey, while Chhattisgarh was adjudged India’s cleanest state.
