Low-cost carrier eyes exponential growth in India
AirAsia is all set to post an exponential growth in India. The airline, that is currently in the process ramping up its network and fleet, said its demand for pilots will also rise as the market is set to expand.
India is ranked second amongst the fastest-growing domestic markets in terms of passenger volume this year. With the increasing number of air travellers every year, it is expected that the airlines in the country would require 10,000 new pilots by 2030.
As part of its market preparedness, AirAsia had announced an 18 to 24 months Cadet Pilot Programme in partnership with New Zealand Airline Academy and Harrison Omniview Consulting.
Capt. Manish Uppal, head of operations, AirAsia India, said, “With rising demand for pilots in India, we are delighted to launch our Cadet Pilot Programme to welcome the next generation of pilots to our family of Allstars.”
