14,392 candidates appear for TNTET
A total of 14,392 candidates appeared for the second paper of Tamil Nadu Teachers Eligibility Test (TNTET) here on Sunday.
Graduate teachers who handle Classes 6 and above wrote the exam. Although 15,992 candidates had registered for the exam, there were 1,600 absentees. E. Balamurugan, a science teacher taking Classes 8 and 9, said questions pertaining to Psychology, English and Science were relatively tougher than other subjects. “Although Mathematics was not very difficult, we had to work quite a bit to arrive at the answer,” he said, adding Tamil was easy.
S. Jayakurumpan, a Tamil professor at a college, said several questions in Social Science for Classes 11 and 12 were asked from a new preparatory book. “Overall, it was easy,” he said. A team of 100 flying squad members inspected the exam centres and the proceedings.
