Strictly Come Dancing will welcome actress and singer Cynthia Erivo back again this week to the BBC show. This comes as Motsi Mabuse has to self-isolate after coming in contact with someone with Covid.

Cynthia, 34, is a much-loved star of stage and screen, and is set to appear in the upcoming film version of Wicked.

The Oscar-nominated actress is also known for starring in musicals like The Color Purple and playing Harriet Tubman in the biopic Harriet.

Aside from appearing in numerous roles, the star has also previously opened about her thoughts on the royal family.

Back at the start of last year, she was quizzed on her thoughts on Meghan Markle and Prince Harry moving from the UK.

In the unearthed interview from January 2020, this came just as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped back from senior royal life.

They moved to Canada first before settling in California with their son Archie.

This is where the couple now lives with their newest arrival, daughter Lilibet.

Cynthia spoke out against “protocol” at the time, claiming Harry and Meghan should be treated first with “humanity”.

She told US chat show Extra her thoughts on the red carpet of the Critics’ Choice Awards.

The actor said: “I know there’s protocol for all these kinds of things.

“But humanity has to come first, humanness has to come first.”

Cynthia explained: “I think that the two of them should do whatever makes them happy.

“I think what comes first is their marriage, their relationship, and their child.

“And I think if they feel like they’re safer and happier where they’re moving to, then that’s what they should do.”

Cynthia is replacing Motsi on tonight’s show, after she stepped in for Craig Revel Horwood last week.

This comes after Motsi revealed she had to miss the show this week.

On Friday afternoon, she wrote on her Instagram to her 509,000 followers: “I am gutted to say I will have to miss this weekend on Strictly…

“Yesterday, I was contacted by NHS Test and Trace as being in close contact with someone on Sunday 21st Nov who has since tested positive.

“Being double vaccinated and booster as I am, would normally mean exemption from isolation under the ‘close contact’ rules

“But unfortunately German EU vaccines are not recognised and neither is my booster in this instance.

“So I must follow UK Government Guidance and can only return after 30 November 2021 to UK.”

She added: “Our health is the most important thing and luckily I have been tested multiple times this week and am negative.

“I am healthy, I am with my family that’s what matters! I wish everyone good luck, sending you my love keep dancing.

“Until then, lots of love and stay safe xx.”
