Sanya Malhotra on shooting lovemaking scenes: Lights, cameras and getting surrounded by people make me nervous

Sanya Malhotra was seen paired with Aditya Roy Kapur in the recently released film, Ludo. There were quite a few lovemaking scenes in the film involving the two actors. In a recent interview to Spotboye, the actress said that she felt awkward while shooting them.

Sanya said, “I didn’t know him, but when I found out that Adi would be doing it, I was really happy. He’s a very good actor, and my god, he’s so good looking.” She continued, “Who wouldn’t be happy to work with such a good actor and such a handsome person? I was really happy, but my friends were happier.”

Sanya added, “If the script requires these scenes, I don’t mind it. But I wouldn’t say that it’s a cool situation. There’s definitely some hesitation and nervousness, because we’re surrounded on set by so many people. The lights, the cameras, that makes me more nervous.”

In a past interview to us, Sanya opened up on how her parents reacted to her decision of being an actress, especially since she doesn’t belong to a film family. She stated, “My father was very chill with it, my mother took some time. Only, recently, I was telling someone that my mother has a takya kalam (catchphrase), where she keep referring to the film, Ta Ra Rum Pum. In the movie Saif Ali Khan and Rani Mukerji hadn’t studied much and then their career hits a roadblock. So, she always used to tell me to do my masters and then move to Mumbai and do whatever I want. But after graduation, I told myself that I’ve studied enough, now I really want to things that really make me happy.”

Elaborating on how her mother still tells her to seek out different career options after having become a big-name actress, Sanya said, “My mother used to call me every day after moving to Mumbai and would tell me to take up this course or join some distance-learning course and to please do my Masters, but, yeah…I didn’t do it. And those suggestions haven’t stopped till now. Even under quarantine, she told me to join an online class and complete my studies. Regardless what happens, whatever you become, what you may do, your parents won’t stop suggesting things to you.”
