Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s third wedding anniversary is today, 19 May, but Prince Charles did not mark the occasion and instead made a post about farming online.
As the Duke and Duchess of Sussex receive well wishes from all over the globe, Prince Charles marked the three-year anniversary since the Sandringham Estate transitioned to a fully organic operation.
Harry and Meghan famously wed on 19 May 2018 in St. George’s chapel in the grounds of Windsor Castle in a lavish ceremony watched by millions.
Clarence House posted on Instagram: “In this week’s issue of @Countrylifemagazine, The Prince of Wales explains why farming naturally and sustainably is so vital for the soil, wildlife and our own health. Three years ago, the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk began transitioning to a fully organic operation, something HRH has been involved with from the start.”
At the time of the post, Prince Charles hadn’t written anything publicly to commemorate his son and daughter-in-law’s wedding anniversary.
Despite the timing of the Instagram post, fans were quick to lavish The Duke of Cornwall with praise.
One wrote: “I so admire HRH's passionate and tireless work on the subject of sustainability. He's always been ahead of his time. Such an inspiration to all of us.”
Others called the pictures “beautiful” while one gushed referred to Charles as “a shining example and hopefully an inspiration for many farmers in Britain and in Europe.”
Meanwhile, Harry and Meghan are celebrating their wedding anniversary by announcing plans to build a Covid-19 disaster relief centre in Mumbai, India.
They wrote on their Sussexes website that it would “provide relief and resilience as well as healing and strength”.
The Sussexes are also passionate about the environment and have written on their website: “The call to protect our environment is more urgent now than at any other time in human history.”

Harry and Meghan also tackle mental health challenges by writing “how much easier it is for people to heal and grow when they’re surrounded by a supportive and connected community.”
The royal couple have also been upstaged by the announcement of Princess Beatrice’s first pregnancy earlier today.
