Phil Spencer has taken to Twitter to share some of his property knowledge with fans. The Channel 4 star ran a Q&A session answering questions on all aspects of buying, selling or renting property, with a grieving fan reaching out to him.
“Got a #property question for me folks?” Phil asked his 188,100 followers.
“I’m running a Q&A tomorrow from 5-6pm, so get your questions in before then using #AskPhilMoveiQ.
“Whether you’re buying, selling, renting or renovating – comment below & I’ll do my best to offer some help,” his post read.
One of the social media users who got in touch had recently lost their father.
“Dad died last year, mum in a care home – should I sell the house?” the tweet read.
Phil returned to the micro-blogging site to offer his advice.
“That’s a lot of tough things happening for you to deal with in a short space of time.
“If I was you – I would sell the house and I’d get on with it as quick as poss.”(sic)
“Good luck and all the best,” he replied.
The 51-year-old also answered numerous other queries about the property market.
“Do you think it is wise to consider moving at the moment?” one person asked.
“Well that’s a big question, it really depends on your individual circumstances.
“But, what I would say, is that if you’re selling & buying in the same market – then surely it all evens out and doesn’t really matter,” Phil responded.

Another person had a question about selling an unfinished property.
“This might be a stupid question but we bought our house 5 yrs ago with the hopes of replacing the original 1970 kitchen that is falling apart. We haven’t been able to afford to do that but want to sell the house. Is it a bad decision to go ahead and sell as is?” they posted.
Phil wrote back: “Hello – it’s not ideal, but no. You bought it like that, so someone else may well do, after all.
“My advice: get some quotes & design ideas together so buyers can get a feel for costs etc.”
Phil is currently on the small screens with his TV co-host Kirstie Allsopp hosting property show Love It or List It.
The duo take a house in need of a makeover and help the owners decide whether they can solve their property problems with a renovation, or if they would be better off selling up and moving home.
The popular show is now in it’s seventh series.
Kirstie and Phil’s Love It or List It continues tonight at 8pm on Channel 4.
