Max George pays emotional tribute to Tom Parker in unseen throwback snapmax geor

Max George has shared a touching tribute to his late bandmate and friend Tom Parker after his death.

The Wanted star passed away at the age of 33 on 30 March after battling an inoperable brain tumour he was diagnosed with in 2020, leaving behind Kelsey and their two young children.

Now, several weeks after his death and funeral, Max, 33, has taken to his Instagram feed to post a previously unseen photograph of himself with Tom.

In the dark snap, Max can be seen wearing a white T-shirt as he wraps an arm around Tom, who appears happy and relaxed as they sit and pose together. The pair could be seen smiling as Max did a thumbs up for the camera before the star wrote about "true friends" in the caption.

"Many people will walk in and out of your life, but only true friends leave footprints in your heart," he shared alongside the photo.

Many of his 330,000 fans were quick to comment as one person wrote: "The friendship and true love you have for one another will never end bless you all #maxgeorge x".

Another shared: "The most special friendship. Soulmates forever. Sending you so much love max," followed by two red heart emojis.

While a third added: "The most beautiful friendship imaginable. He’ll always be right by your side Tomax foreverrrrr," with a red heart emoji.

Max's tribute comes after Tom's widow Kelsey recently revealed Tom's The Wanted bandmates, including Siva Kaneswaran, also 33, Nathan Sykes, 29, and Jay McGuiness, 31, will have a helping hand in raising her children Aurelia, two, and one year old Bodhi.

“They’re a massive part of our lives and always have been. They are role models for the kids too, so I want them to come over and have their input in their lives and to tell them stories about their dad,” she told The Sun.

She continued: “They know stories I don’t know. Bodhi’s going to want to know the stories. He is going to ask, ‘What did my dad get up to on the tour bus?’ and he’ll be able to ask them when he’s older. They will always be there for us.”

Kelsey also revealed that Jay stayed at the family’s home in the days running up to Tom’s passing, helping her with the kids as she went to visit her husband at the hospice.

In light of Tom’s death, The Wanted have released a moving acoustic version of their hit song Gold Forever – a song which was played at Tom’s funeral.
