Live Action ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’ Series Begins Filming, Adds 3 To Cast

The upcoming, live action series Avatar: The Last Airbender has started production!

Netflix announced this week that the show is now filming in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Starring in the series are, pictured here left to right, Ian Ousley as Sokka, Kiawentiio as Katara, Gordon Cormier as Aang and Dallas Liu as Zuko.

It was recently revealed that Daniel Dae Kim will be playing Fire Lord Ozai.

In addition to the start of production, they just announced that three new stars have joined the cast.

Paul Sun-Hyung Lee, from Kim’s Convenience and The Mandalorian, will play Uncle Iroh, a retired Fire Nation general and the wise and nurturing mentor to his hot-headed nephew, Prince Zuko.

Lim Kay Sui, from Anna and The King and Nightwatch, will be playing Gyatso, a kind and caring Air Nomad monk who is the guardian, father figure and best friend to Aang.

Ken Leung, from Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Industry, has been cast as Commander Zhao, a scheming and ambitious Fire Nation military officer who’s eager to leverage an unexpected encounter with a desperate Prince Zuko to advance his personal goals.

Avatar: The Last Airbender is set to be an authentic and reimagined live action adventure, based on the Nickelodeon animated series.
