The Chase: Krishnan Guru-Murthy chooses high offer
Krishnan Guru-Murthy doubts he will be partnered with Katya Jones and revealed he is not 5ft 10in.
The Channel 4 News broadcaster was the fourth celebrity contestant confirmed for Strictly Come Dancing 2023 but he already has shared doubts.
Taking to Twitter today, Krishnan, 53, reacted to an article that claimed he could either be paired with professional dancer Katya, 34, Lauren Oakley, 32, or Nancy Xu, 32.
The theory, which was based on height difference, has been shut down by the newsreader.
He tweeted: “Enjoying the speculation on this but I’m only 5’10” in my dreams so not sure they’ve got the calculations right.”

As reported by Metro.co.uk, three of the male celebrities stand at 5ft 10in – including Krishnan, Nigel Harman, 50, and Layton Williams, 28.
Three of the female dancers are 5ft 6in – including Lauren, Nancy, and Katya, with the height theory suggesting that one of the ladies would be perfect for either Nigel or Krishnan.
It’s unlikely to be the case as the newsreader said he is not that tall.
Social media users reacted to the post, as one person gushed: “Oooo. I hope you can dance! I’m really looking forward to seeing your Samba!”

Another quipped: “Didn’t they warn you about your pointe shoes? Easily 5’10.”
A third remarked: “I don’t give a damn who he is paired with whom as long as you win it!”
Speaking to the BBC about taking to the Strictly dancefloor, he gushed: “I’m surprised, delighted and slightly confused to find myself taking part in Strictly on the basis of ‘you only live once!’ and I can’t wait to start learning to dance, but I am slightly worried about my general decrepitude.
“I know I’m going to love it and have a brilliant time and just hope I’m not the only one enjoying my participation.”
Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One next month.
