Kate Ferdinand rushed to get to the hospital after discovering her estranged dad had a health scare.

The star had to quickly make her way, leaving her children in the capable hands of her childminder.

Kate was supposed to be attending the wedding of her housekeeper's son Dean Hughes at Heston House in Cheshire on Wednesday last week where Tia Ferdinand was a bridesmaid.

A source told the Sun: "It was a very emotional time. Kate was very brave.

"Kate has a strained relationship with her father but had to be with him when he needed her."

They added: "She was happy to be at his side."

The stress of the situation, though, meant that Kate then booked a holiday to Dubai to try and relax a bit.

She shared photos, which also featured her husband Rio Ferdinand, from their gold accessorised hotel as she told her followers that they were having 'Some well needed US time.'

"Gorgeous" wrote one follower, as Kate kissed her husband in the snaps before posing in a string bikini.

Another added: "Love, enjoy a well deserved break!"

Kate's dad Phil, who is thought to be making a recovery from the health scare, previously defended his strained relationship with daughter Kate after she spoke about her upset after not being invited to her father's wedding when she was just nine.

He admitted that he wasn't "allowed" to invite her to the wedding, which was almost two decades ago now.

Phil got in contact with Kate after an interview she did in 2018 where she talked about becoming a step mother to Rio's children, revealing that her experiences had helped shape her life as a stepmother.

And the pair seem to have healed their relationship, with Phil walking his daughter down the aisle during her wedding to Rio in 2019.
