Jack Maynard rushed for emergency surgery after ‘out of the blue’ health scare

I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! star Jack Maynard has been sent to hospital for emergency surgery.

The YouTuber, 27, revealed that he had suffered an agonising case of appendicitis, as he updated fans about his health condition from his hospital bed on social media.

Posting a selfie donning a face mask, Jack wrote beside it: “Finally back home resting up, being pampered.

“For those asking, I got appendicitis out of the blue & had to get it removed straight away.

“Surgery all went fine, no issues, spent a couple of nights in hospital & now at home recovering.”

Jack reassured fans he was in positive spirits in the photo as he was pictured flashing a peace sign.

He finished off the message by adding: “thanks again guys.”

Jack found fame after gaining a huge following on his YouTube channel and is brother to pop singer Conor Maynard.

The TV star dramatically left I’m a Celebrity in 2017 after appearing on only three shows after he was exposed for racist and homophobic slurs he made online.

Jack was also revealed to have begged a 14 year old girl to send nude photos to him over social media.

His show exit was addressed in a statement made by Jack's spokesperson as they confirmed he left so he could defend himself against the accusations made about him.

The girl involved in the incident came forward at the time as she claimed the incident “harmless” and “never once felt harassed”.

Jack later apologised for the scandals on his 23rd birthday, as he told his viewers in a video posted on YouTube that he was “ashamed” of his actions.

He said: “I never wanted to make anything like this, I feel like I’ve let you guys down so much, I was young, I was stupid, I was careless I just wasn’t thinking.”

Jack went on to appear on the second series of Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins and praised the show for enabling him to “gain confidence back” after struggling with his mental health.

“I was so happy, because I felt so good in myself mentally,” Jack said afterwards.

“I really felt like I kind of gained that confidence back because I had that feeling of if I can go completely out of my comfort zone, in a way like my worst nightmare, and do that as well as I feel I did, I can put my mind and do anything."
