Gogglebox tonight saw Jenny Newby and Lee Riley back as the pair watched the next episode of Line of Duty. During the Channel 4 show, viewers were left impressed with Jenny’s hack to follow the show’s plot.

Line of Duty can be difficult to follow, thanks to the numerous abbreviations and constant plot twists.

However, in tonight’s episode of Gogglebox, Jenny had an ingenious solution.

As she and Lee watched the latest episode of Line of Duty aired, Jenny was ready with her notepad.

Whenever anything happened in the plot, the Gogglebox star made a note of it.

At one point, the television personality even called out in joy that she had caught something.

This came when DCI Joanna Davidson (played by Kelly Macdonald) was served with Regulation 15 notice.

Jenny exclaimed: “I’ve got that here! I told you that didn’t I, we needed a Regulation 15!”

Viewers of the Channel 4 series found this hilarious, with many praising her ingenuity.

One wrote: “Jenny making notes about Line of Duty might be the best thing I’ve seen all week tbh #gogglebox.”

“CANNOT DEAL with Jenny making notes watching #LineofDuty – absolutely howling #Gogglebox,” added a second.

Another fan penned: “Can we take a Moment to Appreciate Jenny and her Notes on #LineofDuty…

“We’ve all been there at some point! #JennyandLee.”

A fourth added: “#Gogglebox if you dont adore Jenny & Lee you are just WRONG & Need to never watch telly ever again !”

Another viewer joked about Jenny’s habit, tweeting an image with the joke: “When you’re in an exam and hear people turn the page when you’ve only written your name and the date.”

Line of Duty is currently airing on Sunday evenings as viewers work out whether they can trust DCI Davidson or not.

Lee has previously revealed he created a list of abbreviations for Jenny to keep on hand when they watch the show.

The television star posted about this on their joint Twitter, letting fans know it might also help them.

Earlier tonight, Lee and Jenny also shared a sweet picture with their followers to celebrate Easter.

The selfie featured a bunny ears filter as they tweeted: “Have a fabulous Easter weekend everyone.”

Gogglebox airs on Channel 4 on Fridays at 9pm.
