Faye Winter’s sly dig at ex Teddy with cryptic ‘dog’ comment as she explains silence

Former Love Island stars Faye Winter and Teddy Soares announced their split earlier this week, after months of rumours that the pair had called it a day.

The couple, who had been the last remaining couple together from the 2021 series, made their split public when Faye shared the sad news to her Instagram Story, writing: "I wanted to let you know that after lots of time and consideration, Teddy and I have decided to go our separate ways.

"Thank you all so much for supporting our relationship and sharing the journey with us."

And the TV star, 27, has now shared another message to Instagram, explaining her absence since sharing the news of her split.

Posting a sweet snap of her dog, Faye added the text: "Sorry if I'm quiet over the next few days, thank you all so much for the support but I really don't need to use this situation for engagement and likes. I will only be posting my scheduled work."

In an apparent dig at Teddy, she continued: "The only dog I'll ever need [white heart emoji]."

Teddy is yet to comment on the split directly, but did share a cryptic post to Instagram on Thursday as he talked about a "journey," but did not directly refer to the breakup with his girlfriend of over a year.

Teddy shared a number of smiling snaps in a dark blue jumper with heart motifs all over it, as he appeared to be sat outside a pub.

In his photo caption, Teddy cryptically wrote: "Love you all following the journey, there is always going to be ups and downs, but we keep going."

Prior to his cryptic Instagram post on 16 February, Teddy alluded to the split as he released a telling statement on Instagram on 4 February.

It read: "Everything you have been reading in the press is false. I have nothing but love and respect for Faye since we first met.

"I do not wish to comment on rumours speculating our relationship and ask for you to respect our privacy at this time."

Prior to the confirmation of the pair's split, some eagle-eyed fans spotted that Faye and Teddy had unfollowed each other on Instagram, while others pointed out that neither had posted about the other for eight weeks, when previously they had regularly featured on the other's social media.

The most recent post they had shared together was a photo at the Avatar: The Way of the Water movie premiere in London's Leicester Square on December 8.

However, they appear to have since both deleted the post, with it now longer appearing on their grids.
