Billie Eilish lashes out at ‘true idiot’ trolls who criticise her fashion choices

Billie Eilishhas hit back at online trolls who make derogatory comments about her looks and fashion choices.

In the past, the 21-year-old artist openly expressed her struggles with body image, admitting to feeling “unlovable and unsexy”. While Billie has typically opted for loose-fitting attire, she has recently been embracing more revealing and traditionally "feminine" outfits. Unfortunately, her evolving fashion sense has made her a target for criticism.

Billie has now directly addressed the behaviour of those who engage in negative online criticism, holding nothing back in her response.

On Saturday, the singer posted a selfie along with the caption: “Letter to some comments I be seeing sometimes. I spent the first five years of my career getting absolutely obliterated by you fools for being boyish and dressing how I did and constantly being told I’d be hotter if I acted like a woman,

“And now when I feel comfortable enough to wear anything remotely feminine or fitting, I ‘changed’ and am a ‘sell-out’ and ‘what happened to her…it’s not the same Billie, she’s just like the rest’ blah blah blah.

She concluded the post: “You guys are true idiots LOL. I can be both you f***ing bozos. Let women exist.”

She continued the rant in another post, adding: “Fun fact. You know women can be multifaceted. Shocking right? Believe it or not women can be interested in multiple things.”

She also explained how “femininity does not equal weakness” and sarcastically joked it was “totally unheard of and insane to want to express yourself differently at different times”. With one last selfie, she posted a photo of her giving the peace sign to the camera.

Billie’s reaction comes after she recently opened up toVogueabout battling with body image issues. The star explained: “A lot of it came from my anger towards my body, and how mad I was at how much pain it’s caused me, and what I’ve lost because of things that happened to it.

“I felt like my body was gaslighting me for years. I had to go through a process of being like, my body is actually me. And it’s not out to get me.”

However, despite having a difficult connection with her younger self, Billie explained that she “grieves” some parts of being a young teenager, including the anonymity she had.The 21 year oldfirst burst onto the scene back in 2015 after her song Ocean Eyes went viral. Despite being just 14 at the time, the success of the track catapulted her straight to A-list fame level, where she’s resided ever since.

She continued: “It’s wild. In my head, nobody knows who I am. Nobody knows what I look like. I was 13 when I put stuff out for the first time. I look back at who I was, when fewer eyes were on me. I grieve that. I strive to be that kid again.”
