Beyonce’s mother slams ‘ridiculous’ toilet claim about singer
Tina Knowles has shut down the viral rumour that her superstar daughter Beyonce travels with personal toilet seats while on tour.
Tina slammed the reports as “so ridiculous” and explained that the leaked backstage picture of a black container box labelled “BEYONCÉ TOILET SEATS” was just a part of the singer’s Renaissance World Tour set.
“Those are stands that you put fans on, they’re called toilet seats,” she told TMZ on Monday.
Tina, 69, who is often seen at her daughter’s sold-out tour dates and is a regular behind the scenes at rehearsals, added that the idea of the star requesting her own custom toilet seats on her tour was “too much”.
The rumours kicked off earlier this month when a snap of the black container in one of the concert venues leaked online.

“Beyoncé is such an elite performer she can literally request anything,” a source told The Sun.
“Her team makes great effort to ensure she has her own comforts and a personal toilet seat happens to be one.”
The source added: “Her tour roadies have seen everything so it’s not a great deal for them, but it does raise a smile from people who happen to catch a glimpse of the branded container.”
This isn’t the first time that a rumour has been rubbished by Tina on behalf of her daughter since the tour started in Stockholm, Sweden, in May.

Earlier this month, she shut down speculation that Beyoncé intentionally omitted Lizzo’s name while performing Break My Soul (The Queens Remix). The rumours were rife that her leaving the About Damn Time singer, whose name was in the original lyrics, is because the 35-year-old is being sued for sexual harassment.
The omission took place during Beyonce’s concert in Foxborough, Massachusetts, when she said Erykah Badu’s name in place of Lizzo’s.
“She also didn’t say her own sister’s name. Y’all should really stop,” Tina said in response to the claims, according to the Neighborhood Talk on Instagram.

Meanwhile, Tina recently filed for divorce from actor Richard Lawson last month according to court documents seen by TMZ.
The 69-year-old reportedly cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason behind their sudden split.
Tina and Richard got married in 2015 after two years of dating, although they had met decades earlier when they were introduced by Richard’s sister Gwen.
At the time of their wedding, Tina notably declared that she was “at my happiest” since her divorce from Beyonce’s father four years earlier.
