Ariana Grande hits back at homophobic protester outside concert
Ariana Grande has hit back at an anti-LGBTQ protester who disrupted fans entering the arena during one of her shows.
A protester was filmed outside of the singer’s concert in Atlanta on Saturday 8 June, as part of her Sweetener world tour, holding a banner with the word ‘Pride’ crossed out.
Ariana has since responded to the footage after it went viral on Twitter, saying she was ‘saddened but not surprised by this one bit’.
Responding to the video, Ariana wrote: ‘I’m so sorry that any of my fans had to encounter this. We will do our best to ensure this doesn’t happen again.
‘Proud of u all for not fighting / engaging violently. Never worth it. Wishing him peace & a healed heart cause girl yikes.’
She added: ‘He is highly outnumbered, you are all so celebrated and loved and safe’.
Another video posted on Twitter later showed the protester being forced to leave by fans as crowds chanted ‘goodbye’ at him.
Ariana is currently on her Sweetener World Tour, as she continues to perform across North America.
Ariana Grande was recently forced to cancel shows in Tampa and Orlando following a tomato allergy, adding to her growing list of unusual allergies.
The singer will bring the tour to Europe in August, and is scheduled to perform at Manchester Pride on 25 August.
